Ambrosia Books is an independent press built on a simple — okay, slightly obsessive — belief: that a great story, the kind that gives you chills at a perfect last line, shouldn't be confined to a single shelf, a single genre, or a single corner of the world.

So we don't confine it. We publish historical romance and romantic comedy, cozy mysteries and dark romance, dark fae romantasy and paranormal romance, middle grade adventures and honest, hard-won nonfiction. Different worlds, different voices — held to one standard: it has to be the kind of book you finish and immediately press into a friend's hands.

We like to say Ambrosia was founded by readers, built by writers, and run by people who still get chills at a perfect last line. But the truth is simpler: it was founded by one family that couldn't stop making books.

It started with Jeannie — an author with an MFA and a head full of worlds, who's been telling stories since she was a kid at her grandmother's kitchen table in Brooklyn. It grew the way the best family things do: everyone pitched in. Today Ambrosia is run across two continents — from the United States to our home in Albania — by the whole crew:

  • Jeannie writes the books and steers the ship.
  • Her husband gives every cover, brand, and campaign its look.
  • Matt turns the stories into audiobooks and keeps the technology humming.
  • Adam gets the books into readers' hands and keeps the whole thing standing.
